PROJECT

The move for states to legalize marijuana was the perfect time to upscale the "Yelp for marijuana dispensaries". Our goal was to broaden the appeal and use of the app, without alienating their existing user base.

RESULTS

On top of a new identity, we deepened dispensary and user relationships through app features, activations, and swag. Over 1K new dispensaries joined and 250K new reviews were posted, making Weedmaps the #1 marijuana app.

For Dispensaries

To deepen relationships with dispensaries, we provided them a range of useful materials and fun swag. Along with tangible branded merchandise, we also designed an interface for shops to post their menu.

For the Audience

Weedmaps relaunched during a pivotal point in culture--when society at large began to normalize shopping a dispensary just like any other store. This made for ideal moments to reach new users and reintroduce the brand to existing fans. We did this through activations, and provided an array of materials to take home.
